Terms & Conditions of Service

Completely Floorless

1. Agreement to Works

By accepting a quotation from Completely Floorless (‘we’, ‘our’, ‘us’), the customer (‘you’) agrees to these Terms & Conditions. Acceptance of a quotation, booking confirmation, deposit payment, or commencement of work constitutes acceptance of these terms.

2. Quotations

All quotations are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated. Quotations are based on the visible condition of the flooring at the time of inspection. Additional work required due to hidden damage, excessive repairs, unstable subfloors, moisture issues, or unforeseen conditions may result in additional charges, which will always be discussed and agreed before proceeding.

3. Deposits

A deposit is required to cover the cost of oils, lacquers, stains, finishes, or specialist materials ordered for your project. Deposits are non-refundable once materials have been ordered. Work dates are only secured once the deposit has been received.

4. Payments

Full payment is due on the day of completion of the agreed works. Payment may be made via bank transfer or another agreed payment method. Late payment fees may apply to overdue invoices, and Completely Floorless reserves the right to recover reasonable costs associated with outstanding payments.

5. Cancellations & Rescheduling

Customers may cancel or reschedule work with at least 7 days’ notice prior to the agreed start date. Once a deposit has been paid, it is non-refundable, as materials including oils, lacquers, stains, and specialist products may have already been ordered specifically for your project. Cancellation of works after deposit payment will result in loss of deposit. Cancellations made with less than 7 days’ notice may also incur additional charges where labour, scheduling, or materials costs have already been committed. We reserve the right to rearrange works in exceptional circumstances including illness, severe weather, emergencies, or supplier delays.

6. Customer Responsibilities

The customer is responsible for ensuring the work area is clear and accessible before work begins and for removing all furniture, rugs, ornaments, electrical items, and personal belongings from the work area unless otherwise agreed in writing. The customer must ensure pets and children are kept safely away from the work area. Any delays caused by insufficient preparation may result in additional charges.

7. Existing Floor Condition

Floor sanding and restoration can reveal pre-existing issues including loose or damaged floorboards, previous repairs, gaps between boards, wood movement or shrinkage, historical staining, moisture damage, woodworm, or structural defects. Completely Floorless cannot be held responsible for defects that become visible during or after restoration due to the existing condition of the floor.

8. Timber & Finish Variations

Wood is a natural product and variations in colour, grain, texture, absorption of stains or oils, and final appearance are normal and cannot be guaranteed to match samples exactly. Natural movement, seasonal expansion, contraction, and changes in temperature or humidity may affect the appearance of timber flooring after completion.

9. Dust & Cleanliness

We use professional dust extraction systems wherever possible; however, 100% dust-free sanding cannot be guaranteed. Fine dust may still settle in surrounding areas. Customers are advised to protect sensitive belongings and nearby rooms where necessary.

10. Drying & Curing

After oils, stains, or lacquers have been applied, floors must not be walked on until advised. Furniture should not be replaced until curing times have passed. Rugs should not be placed on floors until fully cured. Customers must follow aftercare guidance provided. We are not responsible for damage caused by failure to follow drying or aftercare instructions.

11. Customer Satisfaction Guarantee

We take pride in our workmanship and aim for complete customer satisfaction. If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our work, you must notify us within 7 days of completion, giving us a reasonable opportunity to inspect and rectify any workmanship-related issues. This guarantee does not cover general wear and tear, scratches, dents, accidental damage after completion, water damage, moisture issues, damage caused by pets, furniture, improper cleaning products, or natural movement or colour change in timber.

12. Liability

Our liability is limited to the value of the work carried out. We are not responsible for existing defects in flooring or subfloors, delays outside our control, or damage caused by structural movement, damp, leaks, or unsuitable site conditions.

13. Photographs

We may take before and after photographs of completed work for quality records and marketing purposes. No personal information or identifying details will be shared without permission.

14. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
